On July 26, Jessica Alba rocked a chic Narciso Rodriguez frock as the actress co-hosted a luncheon at Fred’s inside Barney’s New York in celebration of the designer’s fresh shoe collection for fall 2012.

To be on point and in order to honor Rodriguez, Alba was swathed in a choice pick from his resort 2013 collection. The dress, which was based on white, featured blocks of horizontal stripes in pink, black and orange in the bust and a taupe band at her waist.

To complete this stunning ensemble, which also feature sexy spaghetti straps, were Thierry Lasry sunglasses, Narciso Rodriguez D’orsay heels, and a Narciso Rodriguez Bing-Bang shoulder bag in black.

Her hair was worn up on this very warm Manhattan day, taking the form of a sleek chignon while her makeup was minimal with lips dipped in a luscious red that completed the “Fantastic Four” actress’ polished look.

Narciso Rodriguez’s new shoe line now available for pre-order at Barneys

For the first time in five years Narciso Rodriguez, one of First Lady Michelle Obama’s favorite designers, will produce shoes for fall. The collection comprises ten styles—and, if you’re ready to pull the trigger—the footwear is now available for pre-order on Barneys.com. Here are the some of the new Narciso Rodriguez shoes — which are your faves?

The new collection pieces are made from exotic materials such as ostrich, and will be priced from around $800 to $2,200.

The designer told Footwear News that he hopes the latest addition to his repertoire will drive growth. “The [high-end] accessory market is ever-growing,” Rodriguez said to Footwear News. “Since I became sole owner of the company [in 2008], we have been looking to open new divisions and other categories.” He also told the publication that he chose to relaunch his footwear now because he felt there was a high demand.

The foray into accessories-land is really just one attempt by the designer to grow his brand—this past year he created a collection for Rent The Runway, and just last month it was announced that he will also create a capsule collection for Kohl’s, which will be hit stores in November.  –zimbio.com + photos
