Valentino Spring 2012 Couture Collection

Serenity and romanticism flooded the runway in Paris where designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli unveiled the Valentino Spring 2012 couture collection. Soft, feminine lines and carefully detailed embellishments accentuate the beautiful couture garments.

The new season inspired designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli to create a peaceful, romantic and serene collection for the Valentino haute couture line in 2012. The labels’s Spring 2012 couture collection presented at Paris was highly appreciated for simplicity and elegance always manage to impress. Though soft lines that take you on a soft and memorable journey though vintage details, the collection is worth every bit of attention.

With a certain royal allure, the designs that opened the show wowed the public with their luxurious details. Long and midi dresses adorned with amazing floral motifs, intricate lace detailing and chiffon insertions for a more vaporous, deluxe allure enchanted from first glimpse. To accentuate the softness and flowing line of the collection various designs were fastened with subtle bows wrapped around the waist.

Fairytale-like lines with a cusp of innocence and sheer fabrics dominated the collection. Throughout the soft colored floral motifs and the intricately embellished pieces, pure white simplistic designs have been introduced, dresses that create an angelic allure. From lace A-line dresses, lovely simple midi dresses, to maxi and masculine inspired suits featuring a matching white cape style jacket, the designs oozed romanticism.

The influence of Queen Marie Antoinette reached its peak when the designs were introduced with highly sophisticated embellishments and lavish embroidery that proved the high craftsmanship skills that consecrated the Valentino label as one of the top couture houses in the world.—becomegorgeous.com, photos by Giovanni Giannoni via WWD

Donatella Versace has quit smoking! Overnight! This epochal moment in fashion was the perfect lead-in to DV’s latest collection for men, which celebrated the extreme discipline of athletes. Versace glams up the party animals for Spring

A little while ago, Donatella Versace was all about a neat, pastel tailored suit and cocktail dress for a grown-up rock ’n’ roll mom. Well, not now. In her heart, she’s one of the perma-young, and now that a second generation has discovered the original joy of Versace for themselves—all that’s sexy and on and out there—she’s reverted. As Tom Ford read it in London, and Rodarte (in their way) in New York, popular culture—the point where the street meets music and money explodes—is creating a space […]
