To celebrate Gucci’s 90th birthday, Frida Giannini selected 24-year-old Florence Welch as her muse this season.
Gucci’s creative director Frida Giannini met Florence at this year’s Grammys and was so “captivated by her presence” that she deemed her the inspiration for the autumn/winter 2011 campaign. Frida said Florence “has a powerful personality and an entrancing quality to her performances.
For Frida, Florence is a Gucci girl through and through: “She also has that confident and self assured look that goes hand in hand with the Gucci woman.”
Of the flaming-haired Florence, Giannini said, “When Florence first came onto the scene, I was captivated by her eccentric style and her willingness to dare.
Welch added, “I was extremely flattered when I heard that Frida’s collection had been inspired in part by my performances and I was completely bowled over by her collection, the dresses seemed perfect for my shows, the colours, the shapes, the movement in the fabric. So it seemed natural that we work together on creating some pieces for my upcoming US tour. I’m very grateful to Frida, it’s been a wonderful experience and I can’t wait to get dressed for the stage!”
Gucci be whipping up Florence Welch’s entire wardrobe for the upcoming Florence and the Machine tour.
Florence seems to change her luck by being in red hair group of Rihanna and Mark Ronson.
