GUCCI INTRODUCES THE SEVENTIES COLLECTION
Gucci introduces the Seventies Collection, a new line of vintage-inspired bags designed by Creative Director Frida Giannini. Worn appearances tell an exclusive story of hand working enhanced by a new personalization service: every Seventies bag will be customized with the golden initials of its owner.
Vintage accents recall a touch of glamour from the travel bags of the Seventies. Sophisticated finishes, a fusion of artisan expertise with innovation, emphasize basic lines. A production first, a new washing process of the finished bag gives each piece a unique, lived-in look.
The Seventies bags reinterpret the House’s iconic patterns and materials with an opulent touch. Pigskin and fabric alternate in a pied de poule pattern paired with inserts of the historic web, for a retro yet timeless feel. The interior in washed red cotton features zip closures and compartments for mobile phones and Blackberries. Golden detailing, large handles and a leather shoulder strap appear across three female versions as well as the male version, along with wallets and foulards to complete the collection.—fashionandrunway.com + photos
