Much awaiting with more like Romeo and Juliet posters seen few months earlier eagerly awaited the new ad campaign for Vera Wang’s Lovestruck fragrance!
Shot in New York City’s Soho by photographer Carter Smith, the ads feature the utterly beautiful Leighton Meester wearing glamorous, strapless burgundy evening Vera Wang gown with matching plum lips. Leaning over the railing of a fire escape, Meester longingly awaits the arrival of her real-life Romeo, who rushes to her side bearing a bouquet of purple blossoms. It’s a snap that speaks a romantic story.
Meester, who appears in both print and TV ads for Lovestruck, shot the campaign last winter, spending much of her time perched outside the fourth floor of a building on Mercer St.
“I was above it all, literally,” she told WWD. “So I was just kind of entertaining myself—I did a little singing, did a little dance.”
“When I heard tourists saying, ‘I want to look like her,’ I knew we were right on the money,” Wang told WWD the day of the shoot. “There’s nothing like the real client in the street, and I mean the street literally — and in windows literally.”
Lovestruck, which comes in a beautiful designed bottle with a flower and tulle like cap will be available in the UK starting in June and the US beginning in August.
