Is Mascara key part of your makeup?
Mascara can dramatically improve the appearance of eyes, making them look larger, brighter, and more noticeable. One of the best-selling cosmetic products available, mascara makes wimpy lashes look thicker, longer, and more voluminous. Mascara pulls away the eyelash from the rim of the eye creating a doe-like illusion of larger, more open eyes.
Mascara, a cosmetic commonly used to enhance the eyes, darkens, thickens, lengthens, and/or defines the eyelashes. The modern mascara product has various formulas; however, all contain the same basic components of pigments, oils, waxes, and preservatives.
Let’s discuss few things we all need to know about mascara:-
If you have dark hair and eyes you can use black or dark brown but avoid blue at all costs. Dark green can be good if you have green or hazel eyes, or an olive skin tone. Avoid black if you are very fair or a redhead. Use instead brown or, if you are really blonde, blue. If you are very fair skinned you might use clear mascara which will give definition but not add color to your eyes.
Mascaras come in two formulas: water-soluble and waterproof. Water-soluble mascaras are lighter and easier to remove, but won’t hold up to extreme humidity. If you live in a humid climate, or are prone to watery eyes, opt for the waterproof alternative.
Applying mascara only to the bottom of your eyelashes will make them heavy, causing them to droop. Instead, apply an even coat to both the tops and bottoms of your lashes, starting at the base and wiggling the brush from side to side as you move to the tip, coating the full lash.
Pull out the wand in one motion, as pumping introduces air to the tube and this can lead to drying out. It can also allow bacteria to enter. Make sure both the wand and the edge of the tube are clean, too, or you won’t get a smooth application. A top makeup artist once gave his secret to his steady hand: he always bends his wand at a right angle.
Slowly move it upwards towards the tip in zigzag motions. Use the wand at an angle to add more curl and definition, and be careful not to blink for a few seconds until it is dry. Many makeup artists recommend applying mascara only to the top lashes. If you want to make eyes appear wider, apply mascara to the bottom lashes but make sure you give lashes a light touch. Not great at getting those bottom lashes? Try putting a tissue under them before application.
Mascaras are the last touches to your eye makeup. So it’s one makeup thingy that we all need to put on and well defined lashes enlarge and emphasize your eyes, and bring forward the most important feature in your face.
